Idena Suzanne pirouettes across the western states, sharing her passion for Oriental Dance at festivals, shows, and professional competitions. Full of surprises, full of imagination, she tells many stories through her dance. Her smile is lively and her humor is apparent in her performances.
First stricken with Belly Dance Fever in 1995, Idena Suzanne has studied with everyone she could get her hips on, from southern Oregon’s Asya and Ayesha, to international stars such as (the late) John Compton, Aziza, Hadia, Karim Nagi, Zadial Sasmaz, Shoshanna, Souhail Kaspar and Ziva Emtiyaz, Morocco, Virginia, Artemis Mourat, Naheeda, Nadira, Rachel George, Amy Sigil, Ruby Beh, Suhaila and Jamila Salimpour. Idena has level 1 certification from the Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance.
Idena’s cerebral education includes degrees in Nursing, Health/PE, and Professional Writing with a focus in Creative Non-Fiction.
Idena Suzanne cross-trains with Ballet, Jazz, and African dance, as well as Yoga, Pilates, cycling, running, and an ever-evolving
regi-men of cardio and strength-training exercises. As an instructor, Idena uses her kinesthetic knowledge to emphasize safe dance habits and muscle-driven movements.
