The Bijou Project is a Tribal Fusion duet, comprised of Kamini (Bend, OR) and Samara (Albany, OR). For the past two and a half years these dancers have maintained their friendship and collaboration in spite of distances ranging from 125 to 3000 miles. Since their inception in 2005 the Bijou Project has traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest performing at local and regional venues from Seattle, down through California. Both women share a passion for dance and enjoy sharing this gift with others through performance, classes, and workshops. They meld elements from many dance styles with their own artistic vision, the improvisation of American Tribal Style belly dance, and elements from other Middle Eastern Dance styles creating an expression of this art form that is uniquely their own.
