Aisha Ahroosh is an elegant artist of Le Danse Oriental currently residing in the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. She began her studies in 1979 in rural Montana and has danced across the West including Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.
Aisha teaches Middle Eastern Dance and has been the director of several dance companies over the years. She was a member of the Medford based award-winning Troupe Mandala for many years and is the current director of the award-winning troupe Raqs Ahroosh based in Grants Pass, OR. She won the title of Grand Dancer in the Belly Dancer of the Year pageant in 1997 and the title of Goddess in the Belly Dancer USA contest in the same year. She was also a member of the award-winning duet Amarasha.
Aisha has taken workshops from many well know dancer artists over the years and continues to take workshops when she can. Her inspirations in the dance are Fatiem for expression, Dallia Carella for passion, Azziza for technique and all around performance ability, and Samisha Shami for her expression and wisdom and good council.
Aisha is the artist and owner of Ladysilk, where she creates beautiful silk veils for belly dancers.
