Cira, featured 7/2011

Cira began belly dancing in 1989. Prior to that she was took ballet at the Danish School of Ballet in Seattle and with Ivan Novikoff.

She has been teaching belly dance for the last 17 years, and is the director of Sisters of the Desert Moon cabaret troupe, and Artemis Tribal Belly Dance. Cira has also been the African Village captain and on the entertainment committee for the WorldBeat Festival, the biggest multicultural festival west of the Mississippi, a Rose Festival sanctioned event.

Her love of Middle Eastern dance and culture has taken her to a wide variety of teachers to further her education, and allowed her the opportunity to dance in a variety of venues. She truly has a lifelong love of Middle Eastern dance and music.

MEDGE offers regular monthly shows the third Friday of each month at The Strand/Cozmic Pizza, 8th & Charnelton in Eugene, OR.  Shows are family-friendly.  8:30 p.m., $5 suggested donation.
