Fatifah has been bellydancing for more than 27 years. Her first mentor was Kameal, who at the time lived in Corvallis and taught American Cabaret style through Linn Benton Community College. After several years she was invited to dance in Kameal’s troupe Nejmah. She danced with Nejmah for four years before moving to Kodiak, Alaska. While living and working in Kodiak, she taught Kameal’s style of dance for about thirteen years.
In 2009 she moved back to Oregon and started a new chapter in her life. This new life included a job in Eugene and Celebration Studio. With Sabine as her new mentor, she began studying Improvised Tribal Style bellydance and is delighted to now be a member of Sabine’s student troupe Azhaar.
