Margaret specializes in unusual bellydance, drawing upon diverse influences including American Tribal Style, fusion, & folkloric styles. She’s studied ballet and modern dance, and has a lifelong fondness for Bob Fosse’s musicals.
Her performances are marked by genuine emotional connection with the audience, expressive power, and sensitive musicality, as well as by her lighthearted attitude and sense of humor.
She has performed under Rachel Brice’s direction at Tribal Fest as a part of the Datura Project, with Colette Todorov’s Scarlet Thistle Bellydance, an American Tribal Style bellydance troupe, and is a regular performer at Portland’s Offbeat Bellydance.
She’s also a Portland Bellydance Guild representative (focusing on Community Engagement) – she feels that volunteer work offers a way to give back to the larger community and deepen our commitments to dance and to each other.
