Ana Gazelle is a Middle Eastern dancer residing in Eugene, Oregon. Her passion is studying and performing traditional Middle Eastern Dance with an emphasis on classical form and technique. She considers herself a passionate Middle Eastern Dance hobbiest while maintaining a day job, raising a family and keeping fit with a regular yoga practice.
She has twenty plus years of non-stop rehearsing, practicing, studying and performing Middle Eastern Dance. Her exeriences include teaching classes and workshops, producing shows and volunteering for MEDGE. The bulk of her dance knowledge was gained through dancing as a troupe member of the Shami Mir Dance Ensemble, Directed by Samisha Shami. She also served as Co-Director and Dance Captain of Ja La Nour Middle Eastern Dancers and Director of Mirage Dancers. She has studied and performed throughout the Northwest and Canada. She has attended workshops with Samisha Shami, Yousry Sharif, Amani of NM, Fahtiem of CA, Suhaila Salimpour, Raquia Hasan, Nagua Fouad, Mona Said, Morocco, Suzanna Del Vecchio, and many more.
Ana’s repertoire is rich with choreographies for both solo and group performance. She is currently performing as a soloist and troupe member of Mirage Dancers. She is also teaching Middle Eastern Dance classes at Zapp Academy of Dance and is available for workshops.
